Jennie V. Nelson of Delmar passed away at her home on Jan. 24, 2022. Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Herman Lee LeCates and Marie Ella Omen.
Jennie was retired as a nutritionist in the healthcare industry. She loved to shop, and especially enjoyed antique shopping. Her most favorite pastime was spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her brothers, David LeCates and his wife Sandy of Laurel, and Gene LeCates and his wife Patricia of Laurel; grandchildren, Kimberly Cox, Dakota Chrobot, and Christopher Chrobot; great-grandchildren, Hayden Cox, Haizley Cox, Aggie Fariss, Karly Chrobot, and Kairen Chrobot. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Nelson; daughter, Donna Wilson; and her sister, Connie Parsons. A visitation and funeral service was held on Wednesday, Feb. 2 at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel. Pastor Joe LeCates officiated. Interment was held in Bethesda Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery in Laurel.
