Jean Smarte Fuller of Laurel passed away peacefully at home on June 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 14, 1938, in Seaford, the daughter of the late James and Betty Smarte.

Jean graduated from Seaford High School in 1956. She had various careers over the years which include school bus contractor, Sussex Council Board of Assessment, and best temps. Jean had many hobbies such as, trips to Lancaster, PA, attending baseball games with her husband, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, and eating at Pizza King with her husband, Loren.

Jean is survived by her husband of 28 years, Loren Fuller; two daughters Debbie Whaley (David) and Kim Lankford (Cathi); two grandchildren Brock Gordy (Jami) and Joshua Gordy (Ann Marie); four great grandchildren Zoe Gordy, Jaxon Gordy, Carson Gordy, and Emmett Gordy. She is also survived by her brother, Jim Smarte (Patti) and two stepchildren, Jeffrey Fuller (Angela) and Jill Burton (David).

She is preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her, John and Maude Smarte, her parents James and Betty Smarte, and her aunt, Margaret Cook.

Funeral Services took place on Tuesday, June 17 at Cranston Funeral Home in  Seaford. Burial will take place at Blades Cemetery.
