James G. Littleton of Laurel passed away on Dec. 18, 2023 at Harrison Senior Living surrounded by his loving family. James was born on Nov. 13, 1945 to the late Grover Littleton and Annabell Taylor Littleton. He was retired as a spinning operator for E.I. DuPont with over 30 years of service. James proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany for six months in the 3rd Armored Division. 

He enjoyed researching family genealogy, collecting cars, watching go-kart racing in the 70’s-80’s in Delmar and Georgetown, especially cheering on Ricky Elliott, NASCAR, the University of Delaware football team, and TBN Christian network. His most favorite pastime was spending time with his grandson “AJ” whom he adored. James was a member of the American Legion Post #19 and served in the color guard, and the Elk’s Lodge of Seaford. 

He is survived by his daughter, Carrie Steelman and her husband Jamie; grandson, Ashton “AJ” James Steelman (Gemma); step-granddaughter, Kaitlynn Steelman; step-great-granddaughters, Kennedy and Aubrey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice C. Littleton. A celebration of life will be held on Jan. 27, 2024 from 12:30-2 p.m. at the Laurel American Legion Post #19. Interment will be held privately at the Delaware Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
