It is with great sorrow that the family of Jacqueline announces her sudden passing on April 8. Jackie will be remembered for her radiant smile, competitive spirit, compassion and giving nature.

Jackie was born on May 8,1972 in Newton, N.J. She graduated from Newton High School in 1991 where she was a competitive field hockey player. She studied education, philosophy, and psychology at Lycoming College from 1991-1995, and social work and sociology at Frostburg State University earning two B.S. degrees in 1997.

Jackie was a long-time resident of Kent Island, Md., where she raised her daughter and pursued her passion of helping children through teaching and social work in the state of Maryland. She held multiple positions, from co-authoring research for the governor’s report on childrens’ and adolescents’ mental health services in Garrett County; to teaching autistic youth in Bethesda; and working with special needs children in Queen Anne’s County. 

Jackie will be remembered and missed by her loving daughter, Kylie E. Dick; her father, Wilson S. Current Jr.; her mother, Cynthia L. Current; her brother, Wilson J. Current; and her sister-in-law, Stacie A. Wilcox; nephews, Wyatt and Sam Current; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 22025 Atlanta Rd., Seaford, DE 19973. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Jacqueline E. Current to the Wesley United Methodist Church where she taught children Sunday School.
