J. “Hearn” Myer of Bridgeville passed away peacefully on Oct. 18, 2021 at his home. He was born on June 7, 1930 in Bridgeville, son of the late James and Alma Myer.

Hearn retired from Penco after 36 years of dedicated service. He loved hunting, farming, raising chickens, and being outdoors. What Hearn cherished most of all was time spent with those he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Hearn is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Josephine Myer of Bridgeville; his children: John Myer and Bonnie Myer, both of Bridgeville; his sister, Lorraine Little of Bridgeville;  and his many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at Bridgeville Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, Bridgeville, DE.
