Irene Rich Shifflett, born May 12, 1927 in Poguoson, VA, passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Charles S. Shifflett, her mother Diana Page, and grandmother Sara Virginia Evans. Irene never knew her Dad. She had one sister, Oretta Insley, and one sister-in-law Edith Goff.
Irene was a devoted and loving Mom to her three children, Esther Meadows (Randy), Carolyn Baggs (Eddie), and Charles S. Shifflett Jr. She had six grandsons; Randy Jr., Scott, and Timothy Meadows; Craig and Keith Baggs; and Chuckie Shifflett; and six great-grandchildren and four nieces and two nephews.
Irene dedicated her life to serving Jehovah in April of 1961. She loved helping others to learn about Jehovah. She and Charles moved to Dover in March 1968, where she lived until she started needing more helping care. Call family for details.
