The Federalsburg Community Hobby Fair, sponsored by the Federalsburg Historical Society, will be held Saturday, July 26 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Federalsburg Heritage Museum.

The hobby fair was started in 1930 as a school project and exhibit initiated by Federalsburg High School Industrial Arts teacher Max Chambers. It was then held yearly through the 1930’s as a community event but was discontinued for many, many years. The tradition was revived by the Historical Society in 2002 and has become an annual showcase.

This year’s hobby fair with both adult and children’s exhibits of hobbies and collections promises to have something for everyone. All are invited to this free event, and the museum is handicap accessible.

A hobby is one of the most enjoyable ways of spending leisure time. Anyone who has a special interest and would like to exhibit with other hobbyists is encouraged to participate.
