Faye T. McElroy went home to the Lord on Nov. 14, 2024. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Faye was born on Aug. 6, 1933 in Federalsburg, but was a lifelong resident of Seaford. She loved laughing and spending time with her family and visiting and chatting on the phone with her grandchildren and many friends. She also enjoyed dining out with her dinner club friends, and visits from her pup, Lexie. She was an avid reader, enjoyed puzzles, was an outstanding bridge player and wonderful cook. In her younger years, Faye loved traveling with her husband Kenny and their closest friends, Faye and Jim Carey, especially to New England. She was a member of St. John’s Church, Soroptimist International, Ki-Wives, and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Faye graduated from Seaford High School and studied bookkeeping at Goldey-Beacom College. She was a bookkeeper for several local businesses including two family businesses: M&M Automotive that she and her husband, Kenny, built together and Webb & Turner, Inc started by her father.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, George and Helen Turner; brother, Carroll G. Turner, and husband, Kenneth “Kenny” L. McElroy Sr. Faye is survived by her daughter, Debra Persinger Keller (Earnie) of Millsboro; son, Dr. Kenneth “Kip” L. McElroy Jr. (Lori) of Edgewater, Md.; grandsons, Scott Persinger of Dover, Ian McElroy (Silvia) of Paris, France and Cullen McElroy of Annapolis, Md.; granddaughter, Samantha Muse of Hampstead, NC and great-granddaughter, Stella Muse also of Hampstead.
Services will be held on Nov. 22 at Cranston Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with family visitation from 10-11 a.m.
