Emily Mae Elswick of Seaford passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on June 9, 2021. She was born in Laurel on May 15, 1932 to the late Ira M. Wilkerson and Etha Mae West Wilkerson. At the age of three, Emily lost her mother due to passing away during childbirth. Years later, Emily’s father met and married Mary Wilkerson, whom became her loving step-mother.

She was a graduate of Seaford High School. In her early years she worked as a seamstress in both Seaford and Laurel. She was retired from the Methodist Manor House in Seaford with over 27 years of service. She was very dedicated to taking care of the residents as a CNA. Following retirement she volunteered as a “Granny” helper for the local Head Start program, and took great pleasure interacting with the children. Emily enjoyed working on puzzles, word search books, crocheting and needlepoint to gift family and friends. She was very sociable, and easily made friends. She loved to talk with her family and friends. Flowers always made her happy.

She is survived by her children; Michael Justice and his wife Mary, Mark Justice and his wife Debbie, Glenn Elswick and his wife Peggy, Bonnie Moore, and Robin Ness and her husband Bill; her loving companion, Joe Best; grandchildren, Laurie, Eric, Stephen, Donnie, Lynda, Trina, Floyd III, Kelly, William, Katherine, Chris, Gracie and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant sister, Nancy Ellen Wilkerson, and her son-in-law, Floyd Moore Jr. The family would like to thank Tasha for her sincere kindness and care for our mother.
