Elizabeth “Sissy” Crockett of Blades passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from her struggle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on Feb. 5, 1940, in Concord and raised in Blades where she was a lifelong resident. Sissy was also a 1958 graduate of Seaford High School.

Sissy loved her family more than anything else in the world…except the New York Yankees. When not visiting the stadium or having the tv tuned into the game, you could find her spending time at the ball field watching her children when they were younger as well as her grandchildren playing baseball. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, decorating and dancing to music. Sissy took a lot of joy in pulling pranks and was a true spitfire. She was a Blades girl at heart that never met a stranger.

Sissy spent many years driving a school bus in the Seaford School District as well as working for the U.S. Postal Service in Seaford, delivering mail.

She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Crockett; parents, David Passwaters Sr. and Doris Passwaters; granddaughter, Stacey Crockett; and niece, Dawn Passwaters.

Sissy is survived by her sons, Michael Crockett (Sandy) and Scott Crockett (Denise); brothers, David Passwaters Jr. (Judy); James Passwaters Sr. (Bonnie); and Frank Passwaters Sr. (Pam); nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will be hosting a time of visitation at Cranston’s Funeral Home in Seaford on Friday, May 10 from 1-2 p.m. with the memorial service starting at 2. Burial will follow at Oddfellow’s Cemetery in Seaford.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests benevolences and well wishes to be sent to Scott and Denise Crockett at 24026 Ingrams Drive, Millsboro, DE 19966.
