On Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024, Eleanor (Babe) Murphy departed this life, surrounded by her family in her home. Born in Crisfield on March 20, 1944, she was the daughter of Wilson and Anna Mae Jones.
On Oct. 21, 1961, she married the love of her life, Russell Murphy, Sr. She dedicated herself to being a devoted wife, loving grandmother, mother, daughter, sister and friend to many.
Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by her husband Russell Murphy, and parents Wilson and Anna Mae Jones and her adored pets, Shep, Puds, Boots and T.T.
She is survived by her children, Russell Murphy, Jr. (Julie) of Hurlock, Nicole Davis (Paul) of Bridgeville; her brother Edgar Jones (Faye) of Salisbury; Anna Laird (Ricky) of Crisfield; her loving grandchildren, Mindy Murphy, Heather Bailey, Derek Murphy, Sarah Ruark (Michael), Tyler Davis, Bragg Davis (Cassie); and three great grandchildren, Jalen, Maddox and Kellan.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Oct. 18 at St. Johnstown United Methodist Cemetery, 13471 St. Johnstown Rd., Greenwood, DE 19950 per her wishes.
