Edward Angelo Fiori from Seaford went home peacefully in his sleep to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024. He was the youngest of four children born to John Battista and Mary Theresa Fiori.
Ed grew up farming the family fields. He was blessed with endless God-given talents, handcrafting his first piece of furniture as a young child.
Ed was drafted into the military during WWII and later Honorably Discharged to return to the DuPont Company in Seaford. He ended his career with over 40 years of service.
He met his steadfast love of 70 years, Virginia Rayne, at the Sharptown Carnival Bingo Pavilion. Ed was handsome, loving and a devoted husband and caregiver.
His three daughters were his pride and joy. They were always the best dressed and in lack of nothing. He loved his vacations, camping and touring the United States in his motor home with his loving family. He was very proud of all his family, including grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ed’s outgoing, quick-witted sense of humor was another of his finest traits!
Never did he meet a challenge he could not resolve. Ed always knew what to do. He would make things happen, even in situations that seemed impossible.
He was a skilled craftsman, proficient in various trades, building homes, fine carpentry, electrical, welding, plumbing, and mechanical work of all kinds.
Ed was also an avid waterman. A passion that he used to pursue various ventures including boat building, oystering, fishing, clamming, and crabbing.
Ed took pride in managing and cultivating a large garden that he used for canning fruits and vegetables. There was always more than enough to bless family and friends.
Ed was loved by all, living a selfless life. A man of integrity with a servant’s heart.
Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, and brothers Art and Bill Fiori.
He is survived by his daughter Judy, former husband, Ben Burris of Seaford; his daughter Darla, husband, Bob Ellis, from Seaford; his daughter Sharon, former husband Sean Gibson of League City, TX; grandchildren, Benjamin, Christopher, Christa and Zack; and great-grandchildren, Chloe, Maddy and Rob. He is also survived by his sister Geraldine Cannon and sister-in-law, Barbara Rayne and many nieces, nephews and friends of the family.
Edward’s Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, Jan. 19 at Bethel Worship Center, 26648 Sussex Hwy. in Seaford. Visitation will be held at 11 a.m., service at noon, and graveside service will follow. Pastor Jay Revels will be officiating, and Pastor Joe LeCates will be leading the song service.
