E. Ann Jones of Delmar, Delaware died on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024.

Born in Columbia, Delaware, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Helen Phillips.

A 1953 graduate of Delmar High School, she was one of many who played on the five-year undefeated hockey team, which she was very proud of, and she also served as captain her senior year. After retiring from the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company in 1975, she became active in the community. Being a Democrat, she was active with the 40 District Committee and served as secretary for the Delmar High Athletic Booster for several years. At the time of her passing, she was a member of AARP, V.F. and C.W. Local 27, Delmar High School Alumni Association and All Saints Episcopal Church.

Ann and her husband walked at the Salisbury Mall, where she made many new friends. Besides the Delmar High School Wildcats, she was an avid Chicago White Sox, Minnesota Vikings and Notre Dame-GO IRISH!! Fan!

She is survived by her daughter, Roberta “Bobbi” Ann Green and her husband, Jay; and four grandchildren, Tallie Figgs (Tony), Brian Green (Kari), Mark Truitt (Jamie), and Michael Truitt (Dawn). She also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren, Seth Figgs (Sarah), Luke Figgs, Cassie Figgs (Tyler), Ellie Figgs, Jade Ann Truitt, Bryce Green, Gavin Green, and Remi Green; and three great-great granddaughters, Nollie, Nova, and Ariella Figgs. Also surviving are three stepdaughters, Sherrie, Chrissy, and Angie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Jones; her sister, Norma Lee Robinson Wooten; her daughter, Beth Pope; grandson-in-law, Lonnie Figgs; and great-great grandson, Bud Figgs.

A gathering will be held for her family at All Saints Episcopal Church in Delmar at a later date.
