Douglas “Doug” Gene Hudson of Laurel passed away on March 5 at the Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pa. He was born on April 10, 1962 in Salisbury to William Calvin Hudson and Eleanor Scott Hudson.

Doug’s passions were farming his family farm, raising chickens, and growing grain and produce; he was also co-owner of Atlantic Coastal Well Drilling; worked for Hanover Foods, and was a long-haul and local truck driver. When Doug had free time, he enjoyed horse racing and racing his own horses; as well as sprint car racing.

Doug is preceded in death by his father, William Calvin Hudson. He is survived by his fiancée’ and longtime companion, Lisa Mears; mother, Eleanor Hudson; brother, Ronald Hudson (Debbie); Paula Candy (Jimmy, Jr.); fiancée’s sister, Michelle Lowe (Tony Windsor); nieces and nephews, Justin Hudson, Kari Hudson, Jimmy Candy III (Sophia), Matthew Candy (Denise), Steven Candy (Jessica), Jeremy Candy (Shelby); nieces and nephews of his fiancée, Courtney Kane (Trez), Kara Moore (Chris), Christopher Lowe (Jessica), and Jared Mears. He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews and well as his special cat “Chow Chow”.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5 from 1-2 p.m. at the Connection Church , 28714 Seaford Road, Laurel, Delaware 19956.
