Doris L. Clarke of Laurel passed away on March 8, 2026 at home surrounded by her loving family. Doris was born in Dover on April 4, 1938 to the late Clarence Warren and Marion Pepper Warren.
Doris was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, and a member of the Martha Rebekah Lodge #21. She loved to travel the world, exploring the beauty and cultures; a few of her favorite destinations included Egypt, London and Paris. Doris enjoyed sewing, knitting, and collecting porcelain dolls.
She is survived by her sons, Keith Clarke and his wife Amy, and Dwayne Clarke and his wife Linda; grandchildren, Kimberly Puterbaugh (Ryan Puterbaugh), Sara Clarke (Eric Schmeling), and Ian Clarke; great-grandchildren, Yael, Luna and Jedidiah Puterbaugh and Elizabeth Kernodle. In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her loving husband, Albert Clarke.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 21 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West Street, Laurel, Delaware 19956. The funeral service will begin at noon at the funeral home. Pastor Dean Perdue will officiate. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery-Laurel, Delaware.
