Doris Ann Calhoun of Laurel died on Jan. 21, 2021 at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford. She was born in Farraday, KY to the late William and Nannie Newell and moved to Michigan where she eventually met and married her husband, Larry Calhoun. They called Laurel their hometown where she retired after working for Green Enterprises for more than 25 years as a property manager.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Calhoun (2015) and is survived by her sister, Etta Faye Bond and her husband John of Three Rivers, MI; also by her daughter, Kimberly Rogers and her husband Trevor of Virginia Beach; her daughter, Paula Miller and her husband Mark of Seaford; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Calhoun was an avid reader who loved to cook and bake and was a talented seamstress. She was a member of Bayview Baptist Church and faithfully served her church family in many volunteer facets. She will be missed by all that knew her.

The funeral was held at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel on Wednesday, Jan. 27. Pastor C.K. White officiated. The burial was held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.hsdfuneralhome.com.
