Deborah Hawk Rogers passed away on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024, at TidalHealth Hospital in Seaford. She had been a resident of Lofland Park Center Nursing Home in Seaford for the past 13 years and was formerly of Greenwood and Bridgeville.
Born on Aug. 9, 1952, in Milford Memorial Hospital she was the daughter of the late Earl and Anna (Hallengren) Hawk. Debbie graduated from Woodbridge High School, class of 1970, and went on to earn an Associate of Applied Science degree from Delaware Technical Community College.
She enjoyed a successful career as an entrepreneur, leaving her mark in various endeavors before founding Coastal Appraisers. An active member of the appraisal community, Debbie served as the President of NAIFA, the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers, where she made meaningful contributions to the profession.
Debbie was a woman of many passions. She loved traveling, exploring new places, and experiencing different cuisines. Cooking was one of her joys; she delighted in creating meals that brought family and friends together. In her leisure time, she enjoyed photography, music, playing cards, gardening, and painting, often finding inspiration in nature. She was adventurous and even began flying lessons.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will remember her humor, vibrant spirit, and generous heart.
Debbie is survived by her siblings: Marlene Hawk Mervine, Charles Hawk (Sharon), Carolyn Hawk DePew-Swayze (David); her four nieces and nephews; her eight great nieces and nephews; her seven great great nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
A memorial service will be held to honor Debbie’s life, on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 11 a.m. at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St, Bridgeville, DE 19933, where friends and family may visit beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
