David Sacks of Seaford passed away on July 13, 2021. His family and the many people who knew him throughout his long and fulfilling life will miss him. Born on July 29, 1922 in Kansas City, MO, he grew up in Valley Stream, NY. Dave served in the Army Air Corps during WWII in the Pacific conflict. While serving, he married his high school sweetheart Virginia (Ginny) Van Cott on May 1, 1944.

Dave graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Dave and Ginny settled in Seaford in 1952 where they raised their family and he worked for DuPont for 32 years, retiring in 1984.

Dave was a NY Yankees fan, an avid boater, and loved spending time with family in Bethany Beach and Lake George, NY. He volunteered at Mt. Olivet Methodist Church and the TidalHealth Nanticoke hospital. He was the president of his homeowners association, and was instrumental in founding the Seaford Little League and Seaford swimming pool.

Dave was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Ginny; his son David M. Sacks; his parents Mabel and Albert Sacks; his brother Archer Sacks, and his sister Alberta Erbe. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Mark Heller; daughter-in-law Kathy Sacks; grandchildren, Lauren Sacks (Roy Van Veld), Ben Sacks (Meghan), Scott Heller (fiancée Liz Freeman), Jeff Heller (Joy); great-grandchildren Simon and Laine Van Veld, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Dave’s family would like to thank the Manor House staff and friends who cared for and supported him during the many years he lived there.
