David Phillip Wootten, Sr. of Seaford passed away on Jan. 28 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Milford on Nov. 22, 1955 to the late Edsel Wootten, Sr. and Emma Bailey Wootten. David graduated from Laurel High School in the “class of 1973”.

He was retired as a prominent builder and contractor in the Ocean Pines area from 1988-2007; was a member of the Eastern Shore Builders Association, and known to build many projects without excepting any monetary gain, because of the generous servant’s heart. David enjoyed antiquing, collecting coins and Eastern Shore memorabilia. His favorite pastime was spending quality time with his wife, children, and grandchildren; for his legacy was his family, and they meant the world to him.

David is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Jo Kirby Wootten; son, David Wootten II (Melanie Binder-Wootten); daughter, Caleigh Jo Wootten (Stephen Rich); grandchildren, Charlotte Wootten, Gracie Wootten, Maximus Rich, and Maverick Rich; brother, Edsel Wootten, Jr. (Kathleen Wootten); sister, Sheila Littleton; nephews, Devin Littleton and Edsel Wootten, III, and niece, Sarah Wootten.
