David (Dave) N. Medley died Thursday, Nov, 18, 2021 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital in Salisbury after a short illness.

Dave was born Oct. 1, 1936 in Silver Point, Tenn., to the late Edward and Rettie Medley.

Dave retired after nearly 35 years as a Trailways bus driver based out of Salisbury. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Laurel Sportsman and Beagle Club in Bethel and an American Kennel Club registered breeder.

Dave is survived by his wife of 42 years, Peggy J. Medley; two sisters, Doris Dunn and Gail Absher; a daughter, Teresa M. See (Bill); a son, David N. Medley II; two stepsons, Jeff Fritts (Lisa) and John Fritts (Jen); 11 grandchildren, Roger S. Joudrey (Lisa), Brandon N. Joudrey (Katie), Spencer Fritts (Vanessa), Garrett Fritts, Rachel Fritts, Michael Fritts, Taylor Fritts, Anthony Fritts, Emily Fritts, Kelly Scarborough, Kim Medley; one great-granddaughter Alexa Joudrey; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by sisters Wilma Hastings, Brenda Franklin and Oline Huffman.

It was Dave’s wish that his body be donated to the Maryland Anatomy Board for the use in advancement of medical research and education.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, Nov. 30 at Laurel Wesleyan Church in Laurel. Contributions in memory of Dave can be made to Laurel Wesleyan Church, where he was a member.
