Daniel LeCates Jr. of Millsboro passed away peacefully on Nov. 28, 2024, with his devoted wife, Dottie, by his side. Born on Dec. 1, 1939 in Georgetown, he was the son of the late Daniel and Jennie Pearl (Cooper) LeCates.

Daniel graduated from high school and dedicated 38 years of his career as a sales manager with Monumental Life Insurance Company. On April 29, 1961, he married the love of his life, Dorothy “Dottie” Marie Barto, in Seaford, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love.

He proudly served in the National Guard and was a member of St. Luke’s, St. Philip’s, and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Millsboro where his faith was a cornerstone of his life.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved daughter, Holly Louise LeCates; three brothers, Ruben Henry, Randolf L., and William LeCates; and his sister, Mildred.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dottie LeCates; his cherished granddaughter, Logan Richard; great-grandchildren, Marcie and Theodore; and sister, Shirley Bramble.

A celebration of Daniel’s life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Millsboro.

Daniel will be remembered as a man of deep faith, unwavering love for his family, and a life well-lived.
