Clarabelle Hastings of Seaford died on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020, at home surrounded by family and friends. Born in Deepwater, NJ, on Aug. 5, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Elsie Mae Jerolaman (McAllister). She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Wright (George), Donna Hudson, her son Donald Hastings (Johanna), seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Donald L. Hastings, in 2005, and two brothers and two sisters.

She worked in the local garment industry for over 50 years starting with Walker’s Manufacturing in Blades to be followed by Kim’s Manufacturing in Seaford and finishing at Yale Sportswear in Federalsburg.

Her family was the driving force behind everything she did. The love she had for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews could not be measured and could only be rivaled by the love she had for her husband, Donald. She has been reunited with the love of her life.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, Nov. 5 from 1-2 p.m. at Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St., Seaford, with funeral services at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
