Carolyn L. Brittingham, formerly of Laurel, passed away on Dec. 25, 2024 at the Manor House in Seaford where she had lived for the past eight years. Carolyn was born on April 26, 1928, to James H. & Pearl W. Lynch and graduated from Laurel High School class of 1943. Carolyn worked several years at Delmarva Power in Laurel and was a member of Centenary UM Church in Laurel.

Carolyn is survived by her two daughters, Ann Lee (Randy) of Laurel and Joan Marvel (Ron) of Seaford. She is also survived by granddaughter Amanda Lowe-Whaley (Jeff) of Laurel and step-grandson, Joel Marvel (Michelle) of North Carolina. Carolyn is also survived by great grandchildren, Taylor Lowe and Lukas Whaley, and step-grandchildren Katelin and Jacob Marvel. She is also survived by nephew Gary Eskridge (Pam) and niece Janet Nicholas.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was predeceased by her husband, Roy Brittingham; a foster sister, Peggy Eskridge and her husband, Harold; nephew Ray Nicholas II; and a grandson-in-law Phillip Lowe. Carolyn enjoyed retirement by traveling with her husband, spending winters in Florida, and living in Bethany Beach for 30 years. She also enjoyed playing dominoes with family and friends.

A family graveside service, conducted by Manor House Chaplain Rev. Dr. Craig von Buseck, was held at Odd Fellows Cemetery, West Street, Laurel, on Monday, Dec. 30.
