Brenda June Norwood of Laurel passed away on Feb. 8, 2025. She was born on Aug. 6, 1957 in Milford, the daughter Edward and Mildren Hastings.

As Brenda came through life, her many accomplishments include becoming a fantastic mom and wife. She pursued her education and got her GED on Feb. 1, 2002. Brenda went on to work at Gardner Asphalt in Seaford, Uncle Willies in Seaford, and she also worked at Rite Aid in Seaford.

Brenda enjoyed spending time with family, her kids, and especially her husband Ronald Norwood, to whom she cherished very much. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, going to the beach, family gatherings (such as birthday parties and cookouts). Brenda was a country girl at heart, she was easy-going and always was there to help her family. One of her favorite things was listening to her husband play his guitar where he would often play her favorite song Free Bird. She loved to go shopping with her husband, go for car rides, or simply going out to get ice cream. She also loved to talk to her son Kirk Wright, whom she spoke with quite often.

Brenda was a big fan of country music, including artists like Travis Tritt and Billy Currington, and the list goes on. Her favorite time of the year was the holidays, especially Christmas and Thanksgiving where she got to spend time with family and enjoy her sons cooking.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 19 years, Ronald Alan Norwood; her son, Kirk Alan Wright; stepdaughter, Lynn Anne Norwood (Romeo); granddaughter, Evelyn Marie Gleason; and grandsons, Tyler Wright (Elizabeth) and Troy Wright.  She is also survived by her brothers, Alan Hastings (Vicky), Dennis Hastings (Charlene), and Tommy Hastings (Susan), and her sisters, Ginger Richards (Tim) and Barbara Winkler (John).

She was preceded in death by her mom, Mildren Hastings; her first husband, Elwood Wright; two brothers, Joe Hastings and Roy Hastings; her daughter Nicole May Wright; and her son Ronald Lee Wright.

A memorial service for Brenda was held on March 1 at the Salvation Army Seaford Sussex Chapel.
