Brenda Crowley Johnson was called home to her Lord, Jesus, on March 27, 2024, after a short stay at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford. She was surrounded by her family.

She was the loving wife of Ronald (Ron) Johnson for 32 years. Brenda worked alongside her husband, maintaining their used car business, East Coast Auto in Seaford. She loved to spoil her many grandchildren, who spent many weekends with her and Ron. Brenda loved boating with her husband, spending time at the beach with family and friends, and traveling with her husband, and children. One of her favorite beaches was in Ocean City, where on any given weekend she would spend it with many friends and family. She loved to cook, and was always making up her own recipes, or adding her own “special” ingredients to make a dish that was always amazing. She was a kind, loving soul who was always there for everyone, including strangers. Brenda will be greatly missed by many people whose hearts she touched.

Surviving to cherish sweet memories of her, in addition to her husband, Ron, is her son Timothy Eugene Cell (Stephanie) by a previous marriage to Paul Milton Cell. She had two sisters, Denise (Dee) Murphy, and Theresa (Toodles) Crowley. She also had several stepbrothers and stepsisters, many grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, nephews and cousins. Brenda had a multitude of friends, but one beautiful friend, that she considered her sister, was Jackie Truitt.

She was preceded in death by her son, Matthew Sumner Cell, mother and stepfather, Patricia A. Leberknight and Russell E. Leberknight, and her father James J. Crowley.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, April 8 at Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St., Seaford, DE 19973 at 1 p.m. Visitation is from noon – 1 p.m.
