Arthur “Skip” Dickerson, Sr., of Seaford passed away on July 30, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Laurel, he was the son of the late Merdyst Meyer Dickerson and survived by his father Donald Dickerson, Sr. of Laurel. Skip proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1969-1971, earning the National Defense Service Medal for being a skilled marksman. He was retired from Southern Metal Processing as a supervisor.

Skip was a member of Christ Evangelistic Church, loved playing on the church softball league in his youth, and enjoyed watching Drag Racing.

He was preceded in death by his brother Donald “Donnie” Dickerson, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife Shirley Tice Dickerson of Seaford; son, Arthur “Skip” Dickerson, Jr. of Seaford; step daughter, Deborah Graham of New Castle; brother, Lewis R. Dickerson and his wife Terry of Magnolia; sister, Carol Schlotterbeck and her husband Danny of New Jersey; grandson, Jensen Dickerson and several step-grandchildren also survive him.

A private memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 10 for immediate family at the Delaware Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE. 19966. Contributions may be made in Mr. Dickerson’s memory to Vitas Hospice, 30265 Commerce Drive, Suite 202, Millsboro, DE 19966. A public memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced by the family. Arrangements are in the care of the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel.
