Ann Ellis Pote passed away on June 28, 2021, in her hometown of Seaford.
Mrs. Pote was born in Seaford on April 16, 1939, the daughter of Helen and John Hilbert Ellis. She married James Edwin (Jim) Pote on Dec. 18, 1956. Jim preceded her in death in Jan. 1984. Ann married Robert William (Bob) Tanner on July 16, 1988. Bob preceded her in death in Feb. 2010.
Mrs. Pote was employed by the Seaford School District, Edgehill Pharmacy, and the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas. She was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Seaford Golf and Country Club, and Ann was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her hobbies included bridge, crocheting, needlepoint, puzzles and watching Delmarva Life. Mrs. Pote was a fan of the Baltimore Colts, Orioles and Ravens.
She is survived by her three sons, Mitchell Pote of Indianapolis, IN, David Pote of Seaford and John Alan (Dawn) Pote of Normal, IL; two nieces, Amanda Efron (Ken Rowe) of Longmont, CO and Elenia (Brian) Guzik of St. Paul, MN; brother-in-law Richard Efron of St. Paul, MN, and special friend Tammy (Mike) Bubczyk of Westminster, Md. Ann was also preceded in death by her parents, her sister Kay Ellis Efron, and special aunt Lucie Ellis.
Funeral services for Ann Pote were provided by Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley Street in Seaford. A memorial service was held on Friday, July 2 at the funeral home.
