Aline Marie Smith of Seaford passed away on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024, after a tough battle with stage four pancreatic cancer. Aline was born in Seaford on Jan. 18, 1957, to Mildred Chalmers.

Aline was a cherished woman of faith and family. She was a beacon of love and grace, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Aline was a stay-at-home mom and despite her challenges at being deaf, she enjoyed the simplicity of life and was very easy to please.

During her course of life, things she enjoyed doing were sewing, sunbathing at the beach, reading her bible daily, spending time with her grandchildren, and watching TV shows with a particular interest of horses.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband Dennis Smith, Sr., her three children: son Dennis Smith, Jr. and his wife Tammy Smith; daughter Kimberly Chalmers and her husband Rick Clark; and daughter Tonya Smith and her husband Dimitrios Patlias along with many grandchildren: Devon Hunt, Kayla Smith, Tia Chalmers, Nikolaos Patlias, Dimitrios Patlias, Felicia Smith, Frankie Smith, and Gavin Smith; two great-grandchildren: A’mya and Syx Hunt; his niece: Erica Wright; brother Wayne Chalmers; and two sisters: Sandy Wingate and Patsy Beach.

She was predeceased by her mother Mildred Chalmers and three sisters: Doris Crawford, Joyce Diaz, and Lisa Wright.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21 at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE 19933, with a viewing where friends and family may call beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Odd Fellows Cemetery at 1089 West Street, Laurel, DE 19956.
