Anyone who was alive on Sept. 11, 2001 probably knows where they were that day, when the United States was attacked by terrorists.
The Laurel Public Library is remembering that day on its 20th anniversary with a display at the library as well as with miniature American flags.
The 9/11 Memorial Museum curated 14 posters that are on display at the library. The posters follow the events of the day in sequence as well as the efforts to memorialize the day. The display will be at the library through the weekend, possibly longer.
“People appreciate the chance to commemorate Sept. 11,” said Laurel Public Library Director Gail Bruce. “Twenty years ago, everybody remembers where they were that day.”
Bruce said the day is also a chance to honor those that lost their lives on Sept. 11.
The library also has a display of miniature flags outside the entrance and flags are available at the checkout for patrons to take home.
The Laurel Public Library also has take home COVID-19 test kits (two per box) available for patrons.
