The Seaford varsity boys’ soccer congratulated the graduating seniors prior to the start of last Thursday’s match against Milford on senior night. Shlorby Bourdeau led the Blue Jays in the 3-2 win, scoring two goals.

The Blue Jays opened with a lot of energy and attacks to the circle, led by Jamie Roblero and Shlorby Bourdeau, whose early shot on goal hit the bottom of the left pole and ricocheted away. Senior Andrew Warrell stopped the response of the Milford when he intercepted a shot on goal and moved the ball to the wing. Milford was awarded a direct kick from the left side after a yellow card on Bourdeau. Seaford’s Angel Guevara-Matamoros pulled in the save and kicked the ball to midfield.

Seaford attacked the goal at the 28th and 29th minutes, which Milford goalkeeper Brayden Weddle stopped until Bourdeau crossed a shot left to right and scored for the Blue Jays at the 30th minute. Seaford held a 1-0 lead at half-time.

In the second half of play, Seaford took a 2-0 lead at the 46th minute on a shot by Bourdeau from the top of the circle on an assist by Sneijder Ruano-Caal. Milford came back four minutes later for a score by Juan Pablo Diaz, who found the net with three defenders on his heels.

Seaford second-half goalkeeper Armando Mendez Niz kept Milford from tying the match with two straight saves. Seaford’s Yugo Nakamura scored for the Blue Jays, and although Milford added one more goal, Seaford took the 3-2 win.
