Richard Wayne Taylor, Sr. of Ringgold, Ga., passed away on Friday, Sept. 25, 2026. Richard was born in Cambridge on Sept. 1, 1938. He grew up in Hurlock and graduated from NDHS in Maryland and Wesley College in Delaware. He worked for DuPont in Seaford for 34 years until his retirement in 1992. They moved to Ringgold on New Year’s Day 2010. Richard’s hobbies included golf, billiards, and making golf clubs. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his father, Walton P. Taylor II, his mother, Evelyn Lord Taylor, and his brother, Walton P. Taylor III.

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Carolyn H. Taylor; daughter, Lisa (Mark) Bradford; son, Richard W. (Katherine) Taylor, Jr.; grandchildren, Logan Bradford, Nicholas Taylor, Olivia Taylor, Whitney (Henry) Horne; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at noon, Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, at Ringgold United Methodist Church with Pastor David Cott officiating.
