Alexi “Alex” Theodore Human
Alexi “Alex” Theodore Human passed away suddenly on Sept. 17, 2026, in Seaford. Alex was born in York, Pa., on April 8, 1976, to Timothy Human and Susan Human. He lived in York and Richmond, Va., before he and his parents and brother settled in Seaford in 1980. Two more sisters were born, making Alex the oldest of the four children.
Alex graduated from Seaford Senior High School in 1994. He then graduated from Delaware Technical & Community College with an associate’s degree in automotive technology and began a lifelong career of working on cars, and farm and heavy equipment. He first worked as a diesel mechanic for Atlantic Tractor in Salisbury and then later at Hoober, Inc. in Seaford. Since then, Alex had been self-employed as a mechanic. Alex was incredibly smart, creative, and hardworking. He was known for his ability to fix anything.
He enjoyed being out on his boat fishing in the ocean, bay, and river. He loved all the different seasons of deer hunting- bow, rifle, and shotgun season. Over the years, he rebuilt cars and trucks from scratch, taking them from rusted piles of parts and turning them into works of art. Most years, he had a garden with the green thumb he had inherited from his parents. He enjoyed cooking out on the grill, and in his younger years, he drag raced his project cars at the speedway in Delmar.
Alex was usually elbow-deep under a car hood or rebuilding an engine, but he would always drop what he was doing when someone needed him. Friends and family knew that they could call on Alex. If something was broken and it had an engine, he would show up and fix it.
He was adored by his parents and brother and sisters, and is simply an irreplaceable member of our family.
Alex is survived by his parents, Timothy and Susan Human of Seaford; his brother, Scott Human of Seaford; his sister, Gwen Willey of Lewes; his sister, Laura Pleasanton (JJ) of Seaford; his daughter, Grace Riekert of Pittsville; his son, Colton Human of Seaford; his aunt, Linda Human of Cockeysville, Md.; and his dearest friend and longtime companion, Rebecca Wooters of Seaford. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Ayden Human, Ethan and Jordan Willey, and Connor and Cooper Pleasanton.
Alex was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Lorene McKinley Thompson; paternal grandparents, Theodore and Ella Uelsman Human; his uncle, Robert Wood Thompson, Jr.; and many close friends that he lost too soon and dearly missed.
There was a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at the Nanticoke River Yacht Club in Blades.
