Rolley Edward Marvel, Sr., 68
Rolley Edward Marvel, Sr. of Blades passed away peacefully on Sept. 24, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born in Lewes on July 3, 1958, the son of Jean Dunn.
Rolley was a very religious man. He enjoyed reading the Bible; he was a handyman; he enjoyed cutting grass; he had a great sense of humor, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. Rolley practiced martial arts; he enjoyed playing board games and hidden object games; he enjoyed going to the beach and walking the boardwalk; he loved homemade pizza, Thrasher fries, Dr. Pepper and Sprite, and he absolutely adored his wife, Mary.
He is preceded in death by his two stepdads, Jack Kelly and Bill Dunn; his brother, Gary Palmer; his sister, Teresa Bradley; his grandparents, Elsie and John Marvel; as well as a few aunts, uncles, and nephews.
Rolley is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Marvel; two sons, Rolley Marvel Jr (Manda) and Trevor Lewis-Franklin; two daughters, Sonya Richard (Vince) and Shelby Marvel (Jadin); three grandchildren, Kacee, Kayden, and Raelyn; his mother, Jean Dunn; his two brothers, Bruce Palmer Sr. (Susan) and Keith Palmer; his two sisters, Angel Chase and Laura Palmer-Haman (Mike); as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 1 p.m. with a public viewing from noon to 1 p.m. at Bethel Worship Center, 26648 Sussex Hwy. in Seaford.
