This year’s Wings and Wheels Fall Festival, which takes place Oct. 2-3 at the Delaware Coastal Airport in Georgetown, will pay tribute to the country’s 250th anniversary, honoring 250 years of sacrifice and freedom.

The Friday night party, which will take place from 6-9 p.m. in a hangar at the airport, will include the Sussex Tech JROTC color guard, World War 2 era aircraft, U.S. Naval Academy parachuters, and the Matthews Street Band.

“It’s a nice evening of just getting together,” said Georgetown Chamber of Commerce President/CEO and Wings and Wheels Chair Linda Price. “It’s just a great evening for all of us to enjoy.”

The cost of tickets for Friday night’s event is $60 per person and $110 per couple.

Saturday’s opening ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. with a tribute throughout the day honoring the military. The car show will include World War 2 re-enactors from Fort Miles and Dover. This year the main parking will be in the Family Court parking garage on Race and Pine Streets. There will be two buses running between the garage and the airport. Secondary parking will be at Sussex Academy with three trams running from the school. There is a $5 transportation fee. It is walkable from Sussex Academy to the airport.
