Barbara Wootten passed away on Aug. 17, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara’s life was a beautiful witness to what it means to live with purpose. She was a mother who nurtured, a grandmother who cherished, a minister who served, and a woman who carried herself with dignity and warmth. She met life with grace, and she met others with compassion. In every role she held, she gave her best. In every season, she remained true to the values that guided her. Her story is one of love that endured, faith that remained strong, and a spirit that continues to inspire.

A viewing was held on Saturday, Aug. 22 at the Connection Church in Laurel. Pastor Barry Dukes officiated the funeral service. Barbara’s graveside was held privately at Carey’s Cemetery and was officiated by Rev. Dr. Carl Vincent.
