The 2026 Salisbury Prayer Breakfast will feature Tim Barton, president of the renowned WallBuilders organization that helps people discover the true story of America and its Biblical foundations. He will address the 14th annual Salisbury Area National Day of Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, May 7 at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center in Salisbury, Maryland.

WallBuilders works to reveal the nation’s religious, moral, and constitutional heritage using historical documents as proof. It is home to one of the largest collections of original documents from America’s founding. WallBuilders reveals the country’s forgotten history and heroes, pointing to their wisdom as it relates to today’s issues. The group has been recognized across the country for its work in education, scholarship, law, and public policy.

As its president, Barton advises state and federal officials and speaks to national organizations each year. He presents the facts that confirm America’s Godly heritage, telling the story of its past and how it connects with the present.

The Salisbury breakfast, held each year on the same day as the annual National Day of Prayer (the first Thursday in May), is organized by a committee of area leaders and chaired by Bonnie Luna.

Luna said the group revived the tradition of a regional prayer breakfast on the Lower Shore. “It’s designed to be ecumenical and message-centered,” she said. “We are blessed to have Tim Barton as our speaker, especially as we celebrate America’s 250th  anniversary, so we can be reminded of how God brought forth this great nation.”

The breakfast program begins at 7 a.m. Prior to that time, from 6:15 to 6:55 a.m., attendees are invited to join local pastors in corporate prayer for the city, region, and country. A special area will be set aside for this preliminary event.

The theme of the 75th annual National Day of Prayer is “Glorify God,” based on the text of I Chronicles 16:24, “Tell of His glory among the Nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.”  Around the country, millions will gather to pray at thousands of National Day of Prayer events.

Tickets for the prayer breakfast are $20, available in Salisbury at The Country House, or by mail. Make checks payable to Salisbury Area Prayer Breakfast Committee, P.O. Box 521, Salisbury, MD 21803.
