Mission Possible II: Building Community, Uniting a Nation the Nonviolent Way, a theme from The King Center, is a blueprint for action to build the Beloved Community. It emphasizes creating a world free from injustice where violence is replaced by compassion and love.
Help celebrate the life and achievements of Martin Luther King Jr., an influential American civil rights leader. Dr. King was most well-known for his campaigns to end racial segregation on public transport and for racial equality in the United States.
This family-friendly celebration was well attended with over 200 enthusiasts. Help maintain this extraordinary event for our community on Monday, Jan. 19 at St. John’s UM Church in Seaford, starting at 10 a.m.
Elder Tyrone Johnson, Sr., Churches Take A Corner powerful speaker, will present the keynote. The guest singers are: Sussex County Community Choir; guest youth: 2025 Miss Lil AFRAM contestants,; Jahzara Reid-Cuffee, Black inventions; My’Keal Bowers, performing arts; Guest organizations: Cups Mission, Ash The Fitness Rebel, Heart and Sole, The Culture Club; Co-partners: AFRAM Festival, Inc., city of Seaford, Cornerstone Community Center, Food Lion, Fulton Bank, Heaven-Bound Ministries, Outloud, LLC, St. Johns United Methodist Church, Sussex County Council, TidalHealth, and Walmart.
Together, we can promote harmony across the First State and the Eastern Shore by furthering the legacy of Dr. King. In partnership, we can continue the work of nonviolence by promoting equality to all.
