Sandra L. Tyndall of Delmar, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on Aug. 18, 1939, in Salisbury, Sandra spent her life dedicated to her family and her career.
After graduating from high school, Sandra began her professional journey at C&P Telephone, before finding her true calling in the banking industry, where she worked as a mortgage loan officer at First Shore Federal in Salisbury for 27 years. She poured her heart into her work and made many lasting friendships along the way. Sandra was a devoted member of the Zion Church of Salisbury and filled her home with love, laughter, and delicious meals.
She was known for her incredible cooking, most notably her fried chicken, chocolate éclair cake, corn pudding, and her signature coconut pound cake. Holidays were always a treat at Sandra’s house, where family gathered to enjoy her culinary creations. An avid lover of the great outdoors, Sandra cherished her time spent gardening and going antiquing. The beach held a special place in her heart, particularly Nags Head, where she enjoyed many summer vacations with her family and friends. She also had a fun-loving spirit and memorable moments, such as being the one millionth fan at a Shorebirds baseball game and throwing out the first pitch that day and receiving a lifetime cardholder pass will forever be a cherished memory.
Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Merrill Tyndall; her son, Donn Tyndall; her daughter, Amy Hudson (Perry); and her four beloved grandchildren: Mia and Zoe Tyndall, and Miranda and Mason Hudson. She is also survived by her sisters: Beverly Ennis, Gayle Dixon, and Vicki Gladden; and several nieces and nephews. Leaving behind precious memories, she also leaves her beloved cat, Princess, who was her loyal companion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Louise Brittingham Bergeron and her brother, Dennis Bergeron.
Sandra’s funeral service was held at Short Funeral Home in Delmar on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Following the service, Sandra was laid to rest at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron.
