It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Barbara Jean Triglia of Delmar, who left us peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025. Born on September 26, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pa., Barbara was raised by her loving uncle and aunt, John and Margaret Cummings, after the loss of her parents, Stanley and Ruth Harrington Kaledinskas, at a young age.
Barbara graduated from Delmar High School with the Class of 1961 and dedicated 35 years of her life to the Delmarva Power Credit Union, where she not only excelled as the office manager but also made her mark by serving on the Board of Directors for a decade. Her commitment to community service extended far beyond work; for 63 years, she was an active member of the Delmar Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, tirelessly serving those around her. Barbara was a proud member of Holy Redeemer Church in Delmar, where she contributed her time and efforts.
She had a passion for bowling, a love of reading, and a special fondness for flowers. She was a proud member of both the Red Hat Club and the Parrot Head Club in Ocean City. Her love for life shined brightly, especially in her cherished moments spent camping, soaking up the sun at the beach, and making memories with family and friends.
Barbara is cherished by her husband of 64 years, Joseph S. Triglia, Jr. Above all, Barbara was a dedicated mother who devoted her life to her children, Stephen Triglia and Tracy “India” Bandorick (Bill), and her late son, Joseph S. Triglia, III. She was a beloved grandmother to Sophia and Piper Bandorick; and a sister to Patricia Rees who preceded her in death. Barbara also had a special bond with her beloved family member, Christine Trader, who will miss her dearly.
A visitation for friends and family will be held at Short Funeral Home in Delmar from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 19 with a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Redeemer Church in Delmar at 11 a.m., followed by the interment in St. Stephens Cemetery in Delmar.
In memory of Mrs. Triglia, contributions may be sent to Delmar Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, P.O. Box 143, Delmar, DE 19940.
