Carol A. Burtelle of Seaford passed away peacefully on Sept. 2, 2025. She was born on April 9, 1960, in Seaford, the daughter of the late Charles and Anna Shaffer.
Carol was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Seaford. She worked as a pharmacy technician for Happy Harry’s and for 25 years at Walgreens.
Carol had many hobbies, but her favorite was crocheting, which included making blankets for newborn babies. She loved her cats, Gabby and Abby, as well as her grandfurbaby, Roxy. Carol enjoyed helping any family and friends whenever possible, she was always very thoughtful. She also loved to travel to South Carolina and Florida.
She is preceded in death by her longtime partner, Gerald Harman; her parents, Anna Virginia and Charles Shaffer; and her cat Shim.
Carol is survived by her siblings, Brenda Davis (Jim) and Charlie Shaffer (Linda); her children, David Burtelle (Mariel) and Michael Burtelle (Franchesca); grandchildren, Eric Fourquet (Yasmeen), Yady Butler (Gerrod), Ann Fourquet, Austin Burtelle (Sarah), Aaron Burtelle (Laura), and Ethan Burtelle; great grandchildren, June, Isabel, Josie, Gabriella, Oliver, Aleia, and Raela; nephews, Matthew, Gene (GC), Jeremy, and Jimmy; and nieces, Kimberly and Alexis.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 1 p.m. with a public visitation from noon to 1 p.m. at Cranston Funeral Home, 300 Shipley Street, Seaford, DE. Immediately following funeral services, burial will take place at Brookview Cemetery in Rhodesdale, Md.
