Patricia B. Dale of Seaford passed away on May 4, 2025, at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford, surrounded by her loving family. Patricia was born on March 18, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Geraldine Deubel Burris and Charles N. Burris. Her family moved when she was a little girl to Shaker Heights, Ohio, and then again to Larchmont, NY, and finally settled in New Orleans, La.
Patricia graduated from Newman High School in the “class of 1957”. After graduation, she attended Duke University and graduated in the “class of 1961”. While studying at Duke University Patricia met her future husband, Richard Dale, and they were married. After their wedding they moved to Kinston, North Carolina to start their new life together. Three years later, Richard’s engineering career took the family to Seaford where they have called home for many years. After their children entered junior high school, Patty went back to college to earn her master’s degree and taught for approximately 15 years at Seaford High School, Salisbury College and Delaware Technical & Community College.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband Richard Dale; daughter Karen Dale Hurd of Herndon, Va.; and grandchildren Bethany Hurd and Alexander Hurd. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Steven Douglas Dale.
