Dale Herbert Timmons, known to many as “Dale” or “Herb,” of Bridgeville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford.
Born on Dec. 12, 1952, in Milford, he was the son of the late Dale E. and Hilda M. (Daisey) Timmons. Dale was a proud graduate of high school and served honorably in the National Guard.
On April 5, 2002, Dale married the love of his life, Tamera “Tammy” Timmons, in Georgetown. They shared 23 wonderful years together, creating a life filled with love, laughter, and family.
Dale enjoyed a long career as a custodian with the Indian River School District, where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly nature. He retired in December 2014 after years of dedicated service.
In his retirement, Dale found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was a loyal member of the Moose Lodge and an avid sports fan, faithfully cheering on the Delaware Blue Hens, the Baltimore Orioles, and the Ravens. He also took great pride in maintaining his yard, often spending hours outside working with care and attention. Among his hobbies, he particularly enjoyed studying birds and took great pleasure in feeding them. Dale’s hobbies reflected the values he lived by—commitment, loyalty, and quiet dedication.
He is survived by his loving wife Tammy Timmons of Bridgeville; his son Tyler Timmons of Millsboro; and his stepsons: Cory Richards of Seaford and Dustin Richards (Laura) of Bridgeville. Dale was also a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Olivia, Reed, Cole, Owen, Rhett, and Maisyn, who brought immense joy to his life.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his sister Darlene Griffith, and his niece Bonnie Snay.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27 at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE 19933, where family and friends may gather for visitation beginning at noon. A graveside service will follow at Bridgeville Cemetery, located at Market & Laws Streets, Bridgeville.
Dale will be deeply missed by all who loved him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
