Teresa Ann Henry of Laurel passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Lofland Park. She was born in Salisbury on Sept. 11, 1951 to the late Robert and Myrtle Spear. Teresa graduated from Laurel High School in the ”class of 1969”. After graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Steve Henry, and have celebrated 54 years of marriage, two wonderful children, grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
She was mom to everyone and was called many endearing names such as “Mom”, “Mom Mom Sue”, “T-Bird” and most importantly “Queen”, because her loving husband adored her and treated her like his queen. Hosting family dinners, gatherings, solving crossword puzzles, decorating, cleaning, and shopping with her cousin Pauline in Lancaster were some of her favorite hobbies, but her most favorite pastime was celebrating birthdays and Christmas with her family and opening lots of presents and making sure she opened hers first!!
Teresa and her husband worked together for over 44-1/2 years as poultry growers for Perdue, and also grew many crops on their farm.
She is survived by her loving husband Steve Henry; son, Doug Henry and his wife Michelle; daughter, Kathy Hill and her husband Randy; grandchildren, Justin Hill (Cassidy), Brittany Richardson (Logan), and Victoria Henry (Matt); great granddaughter, Lainey Richardson; sister, Maxine Lynch (Jerry), several nieces also survive her.
A viewing will be held on Friday, Jan. 24 from 1-2 p.m. at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West Street in Laurel. A funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Pastor Dean Perdue will officiate. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Laurel.
