Ken Bolt of Seaford passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 24.
He was the son of the late Elmer and Ella Bolt of Greensboro, Md., cherished husband of the late Collie Bolt, and proud father of Glenn (Barbara) Bolt of Pittsburgh, Pa., proud grandfather of Elizabeth and Sarah Bolt, brother of Marvin Bolt (Seaford), Norman Bolt (Barclay, Md.), and the late Lois Beddle (Harrington).
Ken was born on March 28, 1931. He graduated from Greensboro High School, class of 1948.
Ken had a 43- year career at DuPont Seaford Nylon Plant where he made lifelong friends. He proudly served two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. During his time in the military, he received two Bronze Stars for Valor. He was a sports enthusiast following both NASCAR and Baltimore sports teams. Ken was an avid bowler for multiple leagues through his 80s. He loved to travel with Collie, taking many trips throughout the United States. Ken enjoyed activities and dances at the Harrington Moose, and he was a proud member of the Laurel American Legion where he served in the Color Guard. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren where he enjoyed playing cards, games, and trips to the Delaware shore.
A service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31 at Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley Street, Seaford, DE 19973. Friends and family may visit one hour prior. A military tribute and burial will be immediately following at the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
