Benilda A. Ritchie, lovingly known as “Bebeth”, of Laurel, left this world peacefully on July 26, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. She was born on Oct. 23, 1959 to the late Mamerto and Arsenia Alvarado at Boljoon, Cebu Philippines, and later became a naturalized citizen in the United States.
Bebeth worked at the Laurel School District in the cafeteria department for many years, and lastly worked for Mountaire. She was known for her unwavering kindness, light-hearted laughter, and boundless love. She greatly enjoyed gardening, spending hours chatting with friends, and taking care of her loving pets, especially “Ting” her cat.
Her Filipina heritage was a source of pride, and she cherished sharing her traditional meals and stories with family and friends. Her commitment to her faith was demonstrated through her regular attendance and service at King’s United Methodist Church. Bebeth will be remembered for her sweet spirit and always seeing the best in everyone.
She is survived by her loving husband, James A. Ritchie; daughter, Kaitlynn Ritchie, step-son, Kevin Ritchie; siblings, Mamerto, Angel, Aida, Elsie and Leah; step-grandchildren and many other beloved family members; each of whom she loved dearly and who will miss her deeply.
