Thomas Russel Good, affectionately known as Rusty to his friends and family, of Seaford passed from death unto life on Saturday, May 18, 2024. He was born on April 7, 1946, in Greensboro, Md., son of the late Thomas and Catherine (Slaughter) Good. Thomas was a graduate of North Caroline High School and proudly served in the US Coast Guard. He was employed as a trailer mechanic at Preston Trucking for 21 years and was owner/operator of Seaford Furniture until his retirement in the year 2000.

Thomas was a master woodworker and a talented artist and musician, and his creative urges were reflected in his guitar playing that he was especially fond of and was self-taught from a young age. He shared these gifts with many. A kindhearted spirit with a charitable nature, he was known to always help others in need, and he gave of his time and skills readily. A child of God, Thomas’ passion was to share the Gospel to anyone who would listen, passing out his John 3:16 cards to countless people until the very day he himself went to Glory. His memory will continue to bring comfort to the many lives he touched.

In addition to his parents, Thomas was predeceased by his son Brandon. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Susan; his daughter, Christie; and his four grandchildren.

Thomas will be laid to rest at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966. No formal ceremony will be held at his request.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Thomas’ memory to www.focusonthefamily.com for Operation Ultrasound, a cause to protect the unborn, which was something that deeply touched his heart.
