Sydney Price, daughter of Pam Price, has been in the real estate business all her life — not selling houses, but she’s been at least a tag-along for all of her 18 years. In fact, Pam took her real estate course while on maternity leave after Sydney’s birth, “so she has been with me through every moment of my real estate journey,” Pam said.

In days before work-at-home became a norm, Pam took her infant daughter to work with her in a car carrier, where Sydney was passed around, entertained and doted on by older women in the office. Later, Sydney and her older sister, Taylor, were in day care or school, but if a client called after hours, Pam would take them with her.

Early on, neither daughter had any interest in real estate as a career. They had observed, first hand, how time-consuming the business is, and the frequent interruptions, whether dinner or vacation.

“I tried to explain that they didn’t have to do the amount of business that I do since the average agent only does less than 20 deals per year,” Pam said. “In 2020, I did 180 by myself. I’ve done 440 transactions in the last three years. I tell them, ‘You don’t have to work as hard as me, and you can still make a nice living.’ But whatever either of them do, I want them to love it, like I do.”

Taylor, not loving the real estate life, accepted a job with Wicomico Board of Education last year as a para and loved it so much she has since started school to be a teacher. Pam said, “It makes my heart happy seeing how much she loves her students.” 

Sydney switched from Delmar High School to Sussex Tech to start on the path to become an attorney with a course in criminal justice. But then she decided she didn’t want to have an inside desk job. She was too accustomed to being with her mother, “going 100 miles an hour,” Pam explained.

A straight-A student, Sydney finished her senior year of high school in January. She has been working in Pam’s office this past year while taking the real estate course. As soon as she passes the exam for her Realtor’s license, she will be able to show and sell houses herself.

Finding a work/family life balance is difficult, Pam admits, “They say when you love something you become obsessed, and I definitely am, but life is short and we should treat it that way,” she said. While trying to set some new boundaries so she can follow her own advice, she still asserts, “We are always open. Call or send information, and we will call you back!”

It’s easy to see why Pam was No. 1 in number of homes sold in Delaware for 2020, 2021 and 2022 and is ranked in America’s top one percent for Real Estate agents.

Her clients appreciate her availability: “Pam was my agent for selling and also buying a home. Answered all my questions and explained each step of the process as we went on the journey of my home ownership. Pam is always available and responds back 

ASAP no matter how busy her schedule may be. She is very professional and down to earth. At the end of the day, Pam gets the job done. Exceeded my expectations.”

In 2016, Pam opened her very own RE/MAX office in her hometown of Delmar, Delaware. She later relocated to Laurel, where she purchased and remodeled her stunning office on Route 13. Her husband, Craig Beard, owns Beard Property Solutions LLC and together they flip houses or, as she says, “make old new again.”

In 2022, Pam merged her company with that of Alex Karavasilis to form RE/MAX Advantage Realty Pam Price and Associates: Coast and Country Division so she could focus strictly on sales and growing and less on managing and supervising. Karavasilis’ RE/MAX Advantage Realty is a leading real estate brokerage in the Greater Baltimore/Washington area that is quickly growing offices throughout the Shore, including Ocean City, Salisbury and Seaford.

In January of this year, Pam opened an additional office on Route 113 in Millsboro, which has expanded her expertise into Eastern Sussex. “It’s the perfect location,” Pam said, “small and quaint, and not in the congested part of Millsboro.”

From the two offices, Pam serves basically all of the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Delaware, but she is looking to expand farther, with yet another office in Sussex County.

Pam has won a number of awards from RE/MAX and others, including the RE/MAX Hall of Fame, Multi-Million Dollar Club, Lifetime Achievement Award and Community Citizenship Award. She was awarded Best On The Eastern Shore three years in a row.

Most recently, Pam Price & Associates was the title sponsor for Dock Jam in Pocomoke, Maryland. Dock Jam (www.dockjam.com) benefits the local Somerset community and brought country music legends Aaron Tippin, Collin Ray and Sammy Kershaw to the small town for a concert in May 2023. This benefit is a two-part event with the next happening on Oct. 7 that features the award-winning country music band Lonestar. Also on that night, Pam will be given an award by Caitlin and Jamie Evans, Dockside Restaurants owners and executive producers of Dock Jam. They will present her with the Woman of Vision Award for being a local hero and to recognize her work within the Delmarva community.

Pam is vivacious, always doing and giving what she can to serve others. Her instinct is to offer all she has to help her clients and her community. Her heart goes into each transaction she has, whether it be with a new real estate client, organization, or a community member.

“Because my passion is giving back to my community, I’ve opened my own foundation, The Pam Price Community Foundation (PampriceCF.org), so we can have fundraisers and raise money to do more than I can do alone.” The idea behind the foundation stems from her Twelve Days of Blessings she does every Christmas. The community nominates people they know who need help and each year Pam and her family select 12 recipients to bless with gift cards to restaurants and stores, as well as items in need such as clothing or toiletries — gifting one recipient each day during the 12 days before Christmas. Pam says that these days of blessings always bring joy and warmth to the hearts of those giving and those receiving. 

She has repaired roofs, paid electric bills, bought groceries, taken cancer patients to their appointments and even gives scholarships. She also sponsors “Random Acts of Kindness Days” on which she delivers cards, flowers and/or other gifts to brighten someone’s day. This year over 300 nursing home residents received socks, tissues, lip balm, hand cream and hand sanitizer. She and her crew make hundreds of trees and wreaths for all the nursing homes in the area.

She could brighten your day, too, if you’re looking for a new home and leery of rising interest rates. “If you find the home you really love, don’t let interest rates deter you,” Pam advises. “Marry the house, date the rate. Mortgage rates fluctuate, and home owners often refinance as interest rates or their financial situations change. “Your mortgage rate doesn’t have to be a long-term relationship,” she said.
