Recent Laurel graduates Kylse Wilson and Brady Lee held their college signings last Thursday at Laurel High School. Lee will play baseball and attend the University of Fort Lauderdale while Wilson will play football and study at Delaware Valley University.
“It’s nice to have more and more of these (college signings),” Laurel head football coach Joey Jones said. “He’s (Wilson) going to be playing some serious baseball up there and they’re going to get a serious football player.”

“It’s a dream come true,” Wilson said of the signing. “It’s (Delaware Valley) family. It’s more than football there.”
Wilson will join fellow classmate Brayden Hearn at Delaware Valley. The pair follows in the footsteps of a number of Laurel alumni who went on to play football at the school. Kylse will study business management and is looking to get his barber license.
Wilson and the Bulldogs’ football team won the state championship the past two seasons. Wilson said it took hard work and dedication both on the field and in the classroom.
“It was fun, challenging,” he said of being a Bulldog. “It (winning state titles) was very exciting.”
Kylse, who represented Laurel in the Blue-Gold football game, will play slot/tailback for the Aggies.
Laurel varsity baseball coach Eric Teagle called Lee, who played on the varsity team since eight grade, well rounded. He added that he also brought consistency, leadership, work ethic, and tenacity to the team.
“The coaches made it feel like everything was like family instead of baseball,” Lee said of his choice to attend the University of Fort Lauderdale. He will major in Criminal Justice and minor in Business and will play outfield for the Eagles.
As for his time at Laurel as a member of the baseball and football teams, Lee said, “I wouldn’t be anywhere else.”
Lee also credits his family for helping him get to this point.
“I wouldn’t be where I’m at without them. I’m very grateful,” he said.
