On Tuesday, March 4, all are invited to attend a service of “the burning of the palms,” at 4:45 p.m. in St. Philip’s courtyard, 600 S. Central Ave, Laurel, followed by a traditional Shrove Tuesday pancake supper in Memorial Hall.
The burning of palms from the previous Passion Sunday on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday is a tradition dating back to the eighth century. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us. St. Philip’s is a welcoming community that is open to all!
