Sailors Bethel UMC will be hosting a one day VBS event on Aug. 22 from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., just in time to prepare the kids for back to school. “Gone fishin” will be the focus of the church’s one day of VBS. It will be held at Sailor’s Bethel UMC 7752 Main Ave. in Bethel. Students from kindergarten and up are welcome to pre-register. Attendees will learn Bible stories about the four fishermen Jesus called to be His disciples. There will be games and crafts along with fun songs to sing. Lunch will be provided. Registration is free. Rain or shine. Parents are welcome to join in the fun or come back at any time during the day. 

A special prize will be given to all those who pre-register. On Sunday morning, Aug. 23, there will be a special time during service to bless the backpacks for the upcoming school year. Come and enjoy the experience.
